As a part of Cineplex’s ongoing “Classic Film Series” Silver City Polo Park played Alfred Hitchcock’s suspense classic, Psycho.
The films transfer looked absolutely pristine (I assume it is the HD transfer from Universal’s recent blu ray release) and every note of Bernard Herrmann’s timeless score was crystal clear.
Although a smaller turn out than the Casablanca showing, the crowd was an excellent mix of young and old. I ended up sitting behind some teenagers who were likely seeing the film for the first time and I will admit that I was a little disappointed in their reaction. Although the heart stopping jolt moments sure scared the hell out of them, the laughter during the films chilling finale was enough to make me want to cause a scene of my own.
C’est la vie right?
Psycho will next be playing on Sunday, October 31 (Halloween!!), at 1pm.
